I don't want lessons for my teenage daughter I just want her to have the "Horseback Riding Experience"..
I received a call today from a lady with good intentions of giving her daughter a dream come true experience. She did not want her to have to learn to ride, just get to go out on her own and ride.
I.e. I would like you to place my child on a 750 t0 1200 pound animal, with a kick force of 200 psi, and a bucking force of 48 Gs, almost as high as the knockout force of a professional boxer topping out at 58 Gs, that can take off and run at up to 44 miles per hour, and it has a mind of it's own, with moods, hormones, desires, likes, dislikes, intentions and in-stinks.
Can I offer this? How many pieces would you like your daughter to return in?
Did I offer that?
Um no. I suggested the only local place that was about an hour or more away. She became miffed and hurried off the phone unhappily.
I teach people to understand the horse, to ride with compassion and learn about the animal they wish to become a partner with. I teach them how to ride but also how to be safe yet fearless, because they know and understand the animal and it's behavior. This is the "Riding Experience" I offer.
Is it hard work? Yes. Is it fun and fulfilling? Absolutely, Is it an amazing Horse Riding Experience? Well I guess you'll have to try it and find out. :)
